WILDER to host 3 day MASAYA & CO outdoor sale

JUNE 5, 6 & 7

May 15, 2015 – Wilder, a design shop for home and life, will host a weekend-‐long sale featuring the outdoor furniture of Masaya & Company. Dedicated to design and sustainability, Masaya & Co. uses traditional artisanal techniques and sustainably sourced tropical hardwoods to make contemporary modern designs.

The event will kick off on Friday, June 5th and run through the weekend, ending on Sunday, June 7th at 5pm. Hours are as follows: Friday 11am – 7pm, Saturday 12pm – 7pm, Sunday 12pm – 5pm.

Attendees will have the opportunity to experience the pieces first hand, with the back courtyard of the Square at 4th and Madison transformed with the Masaya outdoor line. All Adirondack chairs will be available at 25% off retail price, and all other outdoor furniture will be 10% off. Inside
there will be an extended assortment of Masaya indoor furniture and many tabletop accessories, also highlighting the ever-‐popular Hammock Chairs that Wilder already offers, offered in an array of previously unavailable colors.

Nashville native Aram Terry was assigned to Nicaragua as a Peace Corps volunteer in 2002. There, he developed an interest in sustainable forestry and later began to plant and manage tree farms on land ravaged by cattle farming. The company was founded in 2007 to plant trees and to develop and market wood products. Co-founder Abril Zepeda, Aram’s wife, provides innovative design, including the colorful patterns woven into the seats and backs of the Hammock Lounger - a colorful interpretation of the classic Hans Wegner design. Born and raised in Masaya, a city in Nicaragua known for its artisan crafts and market, Abril envisioned elaborating local designs and bringing the crafts of her home to the rest of the world.

Their company is truly a family affair, with Aram’s brother, artist Justin Terry, and their father,
Nashville attorney Michael Terry, also joining forces to develop Masaya.

“Coming down to Nashville from New York and encountering Aram & Abril’s line and its story, we were immediately entranced. Their conscientious practices, combined with their gorgeous product captures

much of the merging of outside/inside worlds that Wilder is all about” says Ivy of Wilder. Josh furthers: “We are excited to share these beautiful pieces with our customers, and pass on the opportunity to own some quality, sustainable designs at a terrific price.”
